“It’s Not Really About Zelda”

Last Thursday the 26th, My Constant had the privilege of sharing the stage with long time cousins and great friends, Embracing Abomination. It was their first live performance ever. They had put so much time and effort into allowing every possibility for this show to be the best local show many kids have seen. If you ask any of the them that went to see EA, I am willing to bet they would agree with me when I say Embracing Abomination succeeded in accomplishing this goal. Just check out their Facebook Wall for proof.

As for us, we would just like to thank all of our friends and family that came out to the show and supported us and the other performers. You have no idea how much we truly appreciate seeing your faces in the audience looking back at us with encouraging eyes. Corey, Tyler, Justin and myself really enjoyed ourselves. It was one of our better shows for sure. We heard so many positive remarks about the new songs we performed and we can’t wait to give Uncle Ryan a call to get back into the studio!

A quick shout out to all the other bands at the show. It was a blast to share the stage with ya’ll. Everyone was so positive and encouraging; an excellent display of camaraderie and passion in what we do.

Sleepwreck - Inspiring to see a good dude lay it all out on the stage by himself. Pretty impressive.
High Hopes - You guys certainly have a knack for getting the audience involved. It was really neat to see all of them singing along to every word. Congrats on getting your mugs plastered in the most recent AP magazine.
Hollow Between The Hills - Terrific display of energy lead by the fearless Nick Cherney. Hope your nose has healed up!

And a special thanks to Embracing Abomination for allowing us to be a part of this huge milestone in what is sure to be just the beginning of a successful musical career.

Until next time,

Brian - My Constant

Hey kid don’t get up
That’s what they say to me
Stuck here in a rut
This is where I’ll always be
Taste the blood from your tongue
Your words are sharper than they have ever been before
Oh so sharp
And I’m sorry for taking chances
I’m sorry for taking up all of your time
I don’t want to leave this all behind
But in the end I’m the air you choke on
And we’re better off now
Knowing that we were both wrong
You covered me with secrets
And let me down gently
Is today so full of possibilities?
Hey kid don’t get up
They’re still saying that to me
Surrounded by defeat looking back
Yeah it’s where I’ll always be
And I’m sorry for taking chances
I’m sorry for taking up all of your time
I don’t want to leave this all behind
But in the end I am the air you choke on
and we’re better off now
Knowing that we were both wrong
I felt a rush come over
I felt a rush come over me
I felt a rush come over
and this is where I’ll always be
This is not where we belong
This is not where we belong
I don’t want to leave this all behind
But in the end I am the air you choke on
and we’re better off now
Knowing that we were both wrong (This is where I’ll always be)
Knowing that we were both wrong (This is where I’ll always be)
This is not where we belong (This is where I’ll always be)

If This Is The End.

A song about hope.

A belief in something greater than yourself.

A safe haven in the face of certain death.

Nowhere to hide.

Nothing left to fear.
